OSUN
IPAC EXCO PASSES VOTES OF NO CONFIDENCE ON IPAC CHAIRMAN, WARNS AGAINST USING
IPAC TO SOLICITS SUPPORT FROM PDP, ADP, ADC AND SDP FOR HIS SELFISH INTEREST
The
executive members of the State of Osun Interparty Advisory Council (Osun IPAC)
has once again accused and passed a vote of no confidence on the current
Chairman, Dr. Idowu Omidiji who was elected into the Council through the
platform of his party, the United Progressive Party (UPP).
In
a meeting which lasted for about four hours with the following IPAC excos in
attendance: Alh. Rafiu Anifowose of the Green Party of Nigeria as Vice
Chairman, Dr. Gbenga Afeni of the Action Congress of Democrats as General
Secretary, Mr. Victor Olopade of the Better Nigeria Progressive Progressive
Party as Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Sarah Elujulo of PANDEL as Treasurer and Dr.
Oyerinde of MAJA as Publicity Secretary.
During
the crucial meeting, Dr. Idowu Omidiji of UPP was accused of single handedly
using IPAC to liase with the governorship candidates of PDP, Senator Ademola
Adeleke, ADP, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and SDP, Dr. Iyiola Omisore, knowing fully
well against the backdrop that IPAC consisted of all the 48 political parties
contesting the election including the APC as well as others which made up of
the current 91 registered political parties in the country.
Alh.
Rafiu Anifowose, IPAC Vice Chairman, who presided over the meeting accused Dr.
Idowu Omidiji of working and militating against the organization’s Code of
Conduct which he described as the Council’s Constitution.
Dr.
Gbenga Afeni, IPAC General Secretary berated Dr. Idowu Omidiji’s action and
described it as undemocratic, selfish and unconstitutional.
According
to him “When we first heard that Dr. Idowu Omidiji, the current Osun IPAC
Chairman also the State Chairman of UPP was caught having an unconstitutional
meeting with one of the APC guber aspirants, Engr. Adeyemi Adelere Oriowo
before the APC scheduled primaries under the platform of IPAC, we called him,
interrogated him and faulted his actions. He accepted his faults, apologized
and promised never to do such again.”
“Unanimously,
members of the Council accepted his apology and forgave him. Not quite two
months after the APC guber primaries, Dr. Idowu Omidiji of UPP committed same
error. This time around, he was pictorially caught having a strategic and
crucial meeting with the representative of the governorship candidate of the
Action Democratic Party, in person of the former Commissioner of Information.
Hon. Oluomo Sunday Akere. When the secret of the meeting leaked, with picture
of him, some members of the Council with Hon. Oluomo Sunday Akere. This
uncultured action made IPAC exco to summon Dr. Idowu Omidiji of UPP again to
defend himself, but instead of yielding to the Council’s summon, he started
maiming and blackmailing some members of the Council, the act of which is less
expected from a distinguished Chairman of the Council. “
Dr.
Oyerinde, IPAC Publicity Secretary in his contribution traced their emergence
as duely elected IPAC exco to ACPP, the Alliance of Collaborating Political
Parties.
According to
him, “the Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) is a pro
Aregbesola’s platform who believes in his progressive style of leadership and
governance. Also in his political ideology and cause. Before the advent of IPAC,
CNPP and ACPP were prominent political party associations for registered
political parties in the state. CNPP, the Conference of Nigeria Political
Parties was prominent when PDP under the political administration and
dispensation of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola. Pastor Olatunji Popoola, the
current Osun CNPP Chairman was then made the Executive Secretary on Political
Matters to the former PDP governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Kudos should be
given to the current CNPP Chairman in the state of Osun who has never renege on
his support for PDP despite their failures to regain power from the ruling
party in 2011, Pastor Popoola continue to offer his support to the major
opposition party in the state unlike Dr. Idowu Omidiji, the current IPAC
Chairman who is bereft of political ideology. Dr. Idowu Omidiji lacks honesty,
truthfulness, transparency and serially known for betraying his companions.
Bibi re ko se fi owo ra (Being born well isn't an item that can be bought). The noble and golden emergence of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as the Executive
governor of the state of Osun made ACPP prominent.
Under the chairmanship of
the former ACPP Chairman, Alhaji Sule Alao whom the current ACPP Chairman,
Prince Adesoji Masilo Aderemi Adeleke Omo Orangun Ile-Ila described as a man of
many parts, who laid a solid foundation for ACPP. Under him, ACPP grouped and
regrouped. The grouping and regrouping led to the emergence of the present ACPP
chairman in the state of Osun, Prince Adesoji Masilo Adeleke as the 2 term
elected pioneer Chairman of IPAC.”
“Prince
Adesoji Masilo Adeleke whom Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola once described as tested,
trusted, honest, reliable, resourceful and very dependable served meritoriously
without tarnishing his white garment”
“Since
then, ACPP has been a veritable platform through which all IPAC exos emerged
since the formation of the Council in the state.”
Mr.
Victor Olopade, IPAC Assistant Secretary urged all guber candidates of PDP,
SDP, ADP, ADC and others whom Dr. Idowu Omidiji has paraded and approached for
electoral alliance to stop dealing with him on the platform of IPAC but can do
so under the aegis of his political party, the United Progressive Party (UPP).
Mrs.
Elujulo finally urged the national arm of IPAC under the newly elected
leadership of High Chief Peter Ameh to henceforth stop dealing or recognizing
Dr. Idowu Omidiji of the United Progressive Party (UPP) as Chairman of the Council
in the state of Osun until the exco finishes their final investigation and
decision on the chairman which will soon be duly communicated and reported in
due course to the Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in the state of Osun.
