Supreme court judgement has vindicated Osun INEC REC from false accusations and assertions – OSUN APPPS


SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT HAS VINDICATED OSUN INEC REC FROM FALSE ACCUSATIONS AND ASSERTIONS – OSUN APPPS


THE Association of Progressive Political Parties (APPPS) in Osun State has expressed joy and satisfaction over the Supreme Court verdict which affirmed Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2018 Osun Governorship election, saying the role played by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (Chief Olusegun Agbaje) in the state during the election was free, fair, unbiased and transparent. 

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman and Secretary of Osun APPPS, Mr. Wole Adedoyin of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and Elder Adeloye Ogunmodede of the Action Alliance (AA) in Osogbo on Friday.

According to the release “During the conduct of the 2018 Osun Governorship election, certain political groups and parties effortlessly tried to falsely label Osun INEC REC, Chief Olusegun Agbaje in their attempt to find one way or another to scuttle the 2018 Governorship Election. They even went to an extent of calling Osun INEC REC numerous bad names on Social media and other platforms. Today Supreme court judgment which affirmed the Victory of Alh. Gboyega Oyetola who was from the onset announced the winner of the poll has vindicated Chief Olusegun Agbaje, Osun INEC REC from all blames false allegations and accusations.”

Osun APPPS however berates Osun IPAC for not living up to their task. They described IPAC existence in the state as solitary, irresponsible and goalless urging them to call for a meeting, seek and collect opinions and reports of members on the 2019 general elections in the state and appoint the necessary committees as enshrined in the Council’s Code of Conduct.  

“At this juncture, we whole heartedly congratulate, Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the victory recorded at the apex court and to Chief Olusegun Agbaje for making the expectation of Osun people into manifestation” the statement finally said.

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) has hailed the Supreme Court Judgement, affirming the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun, saying, the Alliance was happy that the country’s apex court has restored the confidence of Osun State citizens and Nigerians in the judiciary and that those who believed they could outwit the electoral verdict of the people of the State of Osun were put to disgrace.

ACPP described the judgement as a victory for Osun people and not for Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the APC, urging him to be altruistic in victory.

The Supreme Court on Friday, upheld the Appeal Court verdict that Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2018 Osun Governorship election.

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the Spokesperson of the Alliance, Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde and which was signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Alliance, Alh. Rafiu Anifowose and Mr. Victor Olopade said that the victory “was a confirmation that was already given by God from the first day Governor Oyetola was sworn in as Osun State Governor”.

“We commend the Judiciary for its commitments to setting precedence that will sustain Nigeria’s democracy, we commend all Osun APC members and the people of the state for their prayers while the governorship legal action lasted and we give glory to God that democratic tenets are consolidated in the state.”
“The latest verdict on the 2018 governorship election in Osun state has risen up our confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the ordinary citizens out there. We urge the good people of Osun State to remain committed to the development of the state and trust in God for better days ahead.” ACPP said.

While congratulating Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) urged him to remain with the people of the state and never get bothered by the antics of those whose only interest is to circumvent the verdict of the masses.

JUNE 12: ACPP COMMENDS BUHARI FOR HONOURING ABIOLA

 

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Bill and declaring today, June 12 as the country’s Democracy Day, as well as honouring the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election, with posthumous conferment of the highest national award, Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the spokesperson of the Alliance, Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde and which was signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Alliance, Alh. Rafiu Anifowose and Mr. Victor Olopade said “ We in ACPP wholeheartedly commend the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari which we see as a credible move to deepen the country’s democracy. This development has solidified President Buhari’s status as an unflinching advocate of democracy, fairness and justice,”

“ACPP is aware of the issues and sentiments that trailed the June 12 polls leading to its cancellation despite it been described by local and international observers as the freest, fairest and most peaceful elections ever held in Nigeria”

ACPP finally appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for acknowledging the importance of the annulled June 12 presidential election, won by the business mogul, late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, describing it as a welcome development.

ACPP Congratulates Hon. Timothy Owoeye on his emergence as Osun Assembly Speaker

ACPP CONGRATULATES HON. TIMOTHY OWOEYE ON HIS EMERGENCE AS OSUN ASSEMBLY SPEAKER


The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) has congratulated members of the Osun State House of Assembly on the rancour-free election which led to the emergence of Hon. Timothy Owoeye from Ilesa East constituency as the new Speaker.

The congratulatory message was contained in a statement issued and signed by ACPP State Chairman and Secretary, Alh. Rafiu Anifowose and Mr. Victor Olopade and made available to newsmen by Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde, the Spokesperson of the Association in Osogbo on Friday.

According to the message “Hon. Timothy Owoeye is a principled and skilled leader, and we know he is ready to take on the tough challenges coming from the newly inaugurated legislative session in the state. We look forward to working with him and we are confident our collaboration will lead to positive and bold public policy for the people and the future of our state.”

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) felicitated with the new Speaker, Hon. Timothy Owoeye for being found worthy by his colleagues to occupy the exalted position.

“The peaceful and successful emergence of the Speaker has demonstrated the unity among members of the House of Assembly and APC in the state.”

The Alliance also urged Hon. Timothy Owoeye to sustain the legacy of peace, cooperation and bridge-building which existed between the assembly and executive arm.

The message further said ACPP looked forward to a cordial good working relationship between Governor Oyetola and the new House leadership to move the state forward.

The body finally advised Osun people to disregard the video recirculating by the opposition party aim at defiling and tarnishing the image of the new Speaker and support the Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s political administration.

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP), an umbrella body of twelve political parties registered with a member-oriented constitution in 2019 under the leadership of Alh. Rafiu Anifowose and Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde. ACPP was founded by Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola to provide support to his government and that of his successor (Gboyega Oyetola) political administration. The Alliance has had Alh. Sule Alao and Comrade Waheed Lawal as former Chairmen respectively.

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP), in a message issued and signed by the group’s Chairman and Secretary, Rafiu Anifowose and Victor Olopade and made available to the newsmen by the group’s spokesman, Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde, urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of holiness and self-restraint exhibited during the holy month.

ACPP called for prayers from all citizens of different faiths for peace to reign in the state before, during and after the judgment of the Supreme Court on the last year governorship election in the state.

The group further advocated a change of attitude towards Osun politics, urging politicians and their supporters to shun bitterness and other ills currently associated with Osun politics.

The group also lauded the relentless effort of His Excellency, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the executive governor of the State of Osun on ensuring, improving, face lifting and entrenchment of peace and order in all nooks and crannies of the state. 

ACPP finally prayed for Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari to surmount the present socio-economic and security challenges facing the country, noting that with the support and maximum cooperation, the present administration has the wherewithal to take the nation out of its myriads of problems confronting it.
