ACPP Mourns Death of Spokesperson, Adekunle Oyerinde

ACPP MOURNS DEATH OF SPOKESPERSON, ADEKUNLE OYERINDE

Sets up ACPP/Adekunle Oyerinde Annual Lecture on Political Party Administration and Internal Democracy

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP), a pro-APC and Governor Gboyega Oyetola political parties’ platform has mourned the death of the former Public Relations Officer of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Osun State chapter and the current Director of Information and Strategy of the Alliance (ACPP), Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde who died in Osogbo yesterday, Sunday, 7th of July, 2019 after a brief illness.

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) said that the demise of Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde is deeply saddened.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Alliance, Alhaji Rafiu Anifowose and Mr. Victor Olopade condoled with the family of the deceased and political associates over the death.

Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde, a staunch supporter of Governor Adesoji Aregbesola and Governor Gboyega Oyetola and a promoter of party’s internal democracy died two days after the supreme court judgment which gave victory to Governor Gboyega Oyetola. Though the Late Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde had started fasting and prayer three days before announcement of Gboyega Oyetola’s victory at the Court despite his brief illness.

The statement reads: “While we share the pains of the bereaved family, it is necessary to point out the political legacy and transformation the deceased made during his sojourn with us. It is on ACPP record that the Late Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde facilitated and championed the constitution and registration of our noble body, ACPP. He single handedly alongside others made ACPP constitution and registered ACPP as a legal association in the State of Osun when nothing was left in the purse of the association by the outgone administration.”

“Despite the fact that the Alliance raked in millions collected by the past Chairman of the Alliance in the last governorship election in the state which he stole and lavished with nothing outstanding to account for.  Yet the platform which gave them the avenue to secure millions was left unregistered and uncared for.”

“But the late Adekunle Oyerinde, took it upon himself to liberate others and get the Alliance registered. To us, Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde did not die a mere death but he died for a noble cause. An outstanding cause which we will be remembering him for every year with a memorial lecture to be tagged ACPP/Adekunle Oyerinde Annual lecture on Political Party Administration and Internal Democracy.”

Yet, when some of us who worked tirelessly for Alh. Gboyega Oyetola’s emergence as elected governor of the state, the former ACPP Chairman, in his selfish interest substituted some of us with pro PDP political parties (unknowingly to Governor Gboyega Oyetola himself). Many of us who worked for the Governor wanted to abandon Governor Gboyega Oyetola but Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde stopped us and told us that the Governor is not the type of person we thought of. Through the assistance of Chief Gboyega Famoodun, Mr. Adeosun where Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde dragged us to, the Governor and APC gave us their attention and sense of belonging.

“To us in ACPP, Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde died for an outstanding and a noble cause which will be sustained and remembered for every year. He was not just a political leader but a mentor and freedom fighter. He eventually created a new school of thought for all political party leaders in the state of Osun”.

“As we mourn, ACPP prays that the Almighty God gives the bereaved family and other loved ones the strength to withstand the tragic loss and also grant the dead eternal rest.
