ACPP COMMENDS NULLIFICATION OF SENATOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE’S CANDIDACY

The Alliance of Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP) has commended the action of an Abuja High Court sitting in Bwari Area Council of Abuja on Tuesday which nullified the nomination of Senator Ademola Adeleke as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the September 2018 Governorship Election in Osun State. Adeleke, who represents Osun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, was the PDP’s candidate in the 2018 governorship election in Osun state.

This was contained in a press release issued and signed by the Acting Chairman, Alh. Rafiu Anifowose and the Secretary Mr. Victor Olopade and made available to newsmen in Osogbo after the state emergency meeting of the Association.

It would be recalled that the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal recently declared Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the poll. That was after Justice Obiora and Justice Ayinla Gbolagunte, entered a majority judgment in favour of Senator Adeleke. PDP and Senator Adeleke had earlier approached the Tribunal to challenge the declaration of Adegboyega Oyetola of the APC as the winner of the September 22, 2018, election by INEC.

In a twist of fate, two Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb, had in 2018 barely few days to the governorship election in Osun State had dragged Adeleke to court, accusing him of not possessing the requisite educational qualification (secondary school certificate) to contest for the office of governor.

The spokesperson of the Alliance for Collaborating Political Parties (ACPP), Dr. Adekunle Oyerinde described the court action as democratic and unbiased. According to him, it’s a prophecy of what will happen soon. We are confident and hopeful that the verdict of the Appeal Court will favour APC and Governor Gboyega Oyetola by the grace of Almighty God.”

Alh. Rafiu Anifowose, the Acting Chairman of the Alliance urged the people of the state to continue giving their support and loyalty to the governor elect Alh. Gboyega Oyetola and perform their civic duties like paying taxes and obeying government directives on civic matters.

The Secretary General of the Association, Mr. Victor Olopade assured State of Osun citizens of good dividends of democracy under the political administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola. Tribute to Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola – You came, You saw, You conquered.

OGBENI RAUF ADESOJI AREGBESOLA– YOU CAME, YOU SAW, YOU CONQUERED.
A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT LEADER
BY
PRINCE ADESOJI MASILO ADELEKE

CURRENT CHAIRMAN, ALLIANCE OF COLABORATING POLITICAL PARTIES (ACPP) FELICITATES WITH YOUR METICULOUS SERVICES TO OUR DEAR STATE SO FAR.
Permit me, at this crucial stage of my speech to give kudos and bravo to the National Leader of the Party (APC) His Excellency Senator Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu, THE JAGABAN BORGU for his immense contribution towards the fundamental growth and development of what we are witnessing today as an embodiment of symbolism.
There is no doubt, ASIWAJU AS A SYMBOL OF ODUDUWA is by every calculation a DE-FACTOR when making a particular reference to polity and politics in Nigeria and Democratic Parlance. More grease to your elbow. Veni, vidi, vici ("I came; I saw; I conquered") is a Latin phrase popularly attributed to Julius Caesar who, according to Appian, used the phrase in a letter to the Roman Senate around 47 BC after he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus at the Battle of Zela. The phrase is used to refer to a swift, conclusive victory.
On the 27th of November 2011, hundreds of people, young and old, from all economic levels, associations, party faithfuls, clubs, great dignitaries representing a cultural and political rainbow, gathered here in Osogbo to usher in a new life, new era, new dispensation and a real change.
There may be no better day than today, for us to celebrate this man of the people who has performed exceptionally well by all rating in every sector. We all knew how Osun was when the immediate past administration was in government and we knew how it is now, there is no refuting that the present ‎administration under the able leadership of Ogbeni Rauf  Adesoji Aregbesola has given Osun a merited and an appropriate look as revered by all.”
The first December Double Salary you paid the State of Osun Workers, the  recruitment of 50,000 unemployed graduates for community service, sending 30 unemployed youths to Germany for modern training in agriculture, re-training  300 artisans in modern methods, information and communication technology training for 5,000 unemployed youths through OYESTECH, selling of cheaper fertilizers to farmers, free training of 3,000 youths in tailoring, giving loans to youths interested in agriculture, setting up of farm settlements to train unemployed graduates, free meals for primary school students which led to increase in enrolment in primary schools, building of modern markets for traders, the farmers train project are  encapsulated   in Aregbesola’s administration’s six-point integral action plan that seeks to banish hunger,  unemployment, restore healthy living, promote functional education and enhance communal peace and progress are few of the many achievements of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
Today, we have come to say our last goodbye to a man we all admired, a man who had served us meritoriously for 8 solid years as Governor of the state, a quiet leader whose voice was always heard when it truly mattered.
Aregbesola’s greatness was dated back to his Secondary School days. The traits of leadership were noticed in him from that era. His generosity is unequalled, racing through all and sundry, and cutting across all strata.
Today, Kings, Ministers, ambassadors, honourable members, expatriates, political leaders, economic giants, rulers of public and private sectors, party faithful and the general public all saying “best wishes” to one man, a unique creature and destined leader of our time. Even those who disagree with him politically cannot help sending words of honour to him on this day.
Fellow State of Osun citizens, what can anyone say about Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola that has never been said before? Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola brought us here together today and it is together that we bid him farewell as the Executive Governor of the State of Osun. A man who I can openly describe as a genuine Omoluabi, a man of integrity, honest, transparent, truthful, trustworthy, obedient, a sincere democrat, a detribalized leader, a true Socialist, a lover of his people, believer of true justice, a security conscious governor, lover of education, a senior advocate of the Masses, a great advocate of peace, your recent appointment as Chairman for the North West Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Peace and Reconciliation Committee bears witness to this Sonorous fact.
Ogbeni Adesoji Aregbesola’s noble interventions in all sectors, particularly in education, health, security, agriculture and road infrastructure among others are now projects of pride and emulation by other states.
With doggedness, determination, commitment, diligence and well thought out policies, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola tackled headlong the problems confronting the state one after the other and the state of virtue is now enjoying a new lease of life. That the state of Osun is now one state matching assuredly and  proudly   amongst other states in the Nigerian family is an exclusively Ogbeni Adesoji Aregbesola’s achievement. Aregbesola always tells anyone who has the patience to listen, leadership is beyond building roads, providing boreholes, renovating schools or rehabilitating dilapidated structures   important as these are, for almost anybody can do that. Leadership is also and more importantly about mass mobilization as the corner stone of governance.
On a final note, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, you came, you saw and you conquered.
In view of recognizing meticulous style of leadership, we are institutionalizing four different categories of Awards to Four (4) different Dignitaries as a mark of excellence and to justifu His Excellency Senator Bola Tinubu’s status as symbol of Oduduwa who beget Oranmiyan Ogbeni Rauf adesoji Aregbesola, aregbesola begets Ileri Oluwa, the Governor-Elect Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and SRJ D.
